The Guam Association of School Counselors (GASC) is a non-profit organization founded in 2004, re-organized in 2015 and is recognized on July 12, 2018 as the 52nd State Division of the American School Counselors Association (ASCA). The mission of GASC is to enable members to enhance school counseling program, ensuring excellence in school counseling, and to contribute to the work of schools in the areas of academic, social-emotional learning and college & career readiness of all students, design to build a foundation for student learning and holistic success.
The primary purpose is to share the ASCA National Model as a framework for school counseling program to help school counselors fulfill their mission and provide professional development and become aware of effective and ethical school counseling practices.
The secondary purpose of GASC is to collaborate with the national association (ASCA) for support and representation for school counselors at a national level through strong government relations and community activities.
